What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative yoga is a calmer practice of yoga with passive postures.  You are meant to completely relax in these poses, as you soften your muscles, particularly the fascia. These poses are held for 3-5 minutes and sometimes even 10 minutes.  It is more of a meditative approach to yoga that allows you to become more self aware of your body and it's signals while being still.  This style of yoga is an intimate and quiet practice, which allows for self reflection, stillness and a space for you to give focus on yourself.  A wonderful form of self care.
